Stephane Kulimushi founded the Refugee Basketball Academy in 2024 after seeing how easily young refugees in Kampala can lose direction while waiting — sometimes for years — for resettlement or opportunity. What began as a response to that gap has grown into a program training over 100 young refugees, not just as basketball players but as leaders who believe their status and circumstances don't define their future.
